Exciting Activities to Commemorate May

June 4th, 2021

Residents at Eden Prairie Senior Living commemorated the month of May with a few exciting activities!

We celebrated May birthdays in Garden Cove with smiles, snacks, and shenanigans. šŸŽ‚

Our Stitch and Craft Club members got together to swap stories and work on a special project. šŸŽØ

In the Pub, residents toasted one another and had a blast during our weekly Happy Hour events. šŸ»

And, of course, the monthly Made-to-Order Breakfast in our Dining Room was a success. Getting everyone together for a tasty meal to start the day is always and EGG-cellent time! šŸ³šŸ„žšŸ„“ā˜•

We look forward to more events in June and can’t wait to see what the month has in store for our residents and staff.

Spreading Holiday Spirit Around Eden Prairie Senior Living

January 19th, 2021

Things may have been a little different this season, but there was still plenty of holiday spirit around Eden Prairie Senior Living!

We had Christmas trees decorated throughout the community along with many other fun, festive decorations. Here is one of our Christmas trees as well as photos of holiday luminaries that a resident’s family member was generous enough to set up for us. After obtaining permission from our Management team, this kind individual lined our driveway and parking lot with the beautiful glowing luminaries for us to enjoy on New Year’s Eve. Thank you so much for the incredibly kind and gorgeous surprise!

We were lucky enough to enjoy a live digital Christmas Eve concert here at Eden Prairie Senior Living! To give everyone the opportunity to safely tune in, we streamed the show in three areas of the community: Garden Cove, our Community Room, and our Theatre. We also held a “grab ‘n go” Christmas eve happy hour from our on-campus pub. Keeping with the holiday spirit, we served two kinds of eggnog, two kinds of hot apple cider, and a variety of tasty Christmas cookies.

Eden Prairie Senior Living held a special holiday party for members of our Garden Cove units. Attendees enjoyed eggnog, hot apple cider, and a variety of holiday cookies while listening to some of their favorite holiday music. Plenty of joy and cheer were shared by all!

Eden Prairie Senior Living welcomed in 2021 with a New Year’s Eve party in our Dining Room. We served specialty drinks, bars, and snacks, and we were treated to a live piano by our very own professional pianist!

Here’s another thank you gift Eden Prairie Senior Living’s staff received this holiday season. Thank you so much for the lovely card and DELICIOUS treats!

Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

June 17th, 2020
Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month

Worldwide, more than 50 million people are living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. During Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness month in June, the Alzheimer’s Association encourages people around the world to learn about and spread awareness. This month, go purple and inspire action.

Alzheimer’s is a disease that attacks the brain. The most common form of dementia, Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of the aging process. The disease affects memory, thought process, and behavior, and is serious enough to interfere with daily life, progressively worsening over time. The sixth leading cause of death in the United States, Alzheimer’s has no cure.

Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

The Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association suggests these ways to learn more and get involved during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month:

  • Spread awareness of theĀ 10 Ways to Love Your Brain – it’s never too early or too late to develop healthy habits, and combining these habits, like regular cardiovascular exercise, a balanced, healthy diet, challenging your mind, and getting enough sleep, can help reduce risk of cognitive decline.
  • Learn and share facts about how Alzheimer’s impacts Minnesotans.
  • Share your story and get inspired by others who also tell of their experiences with the disease.
  • Go Purple – wear the official color of Alzheimer’s awareness and turn your social media profiles purple as well.
  • Participate inĀ The Longest DayĀ event on June 20 in honor of those facing the disease. Select any activity that you love (or one loved by someone affected by Alzheimer’s), raise money to advance the cause, and share your story.
  • Attend or participate in events that raise awareness throughout the month of June.
